Fall is all about fungi-inspired manicures.
Even though Starbucks has been serving Pumpkin Spice *everything* for weeks, fall officially begins tomorrow. So it’s time to ditch your summer manicure for something more seasonally appropriate, and one of this year’s biggest trends is predicted to be matte “mushroom” nails.
As recently identified in The Zoe Report, this trend involves brown polishes ranging from beige to “deep soil tones,” finished with a matte topcoat for a fresh feel. "While an earthy brown isn't exactly original this time of year, using different topcoats or trendy placements can add a spin that feels modern and new," says celebrity manicurist Stephanie Staunton.
Opt for one brown polish across the entire hand or mix it up with a variety of chocolatey tones. Other neutral hues pair nicely with matte browns as well, and we’re loving a 'shroomed out french tip, too!
